Hello Everyone,

I purchased a Wilson Combat "Drop In" Beavertail today at the fun show for my OLD Springfield 1911. This Springfield looks like a mil-spec but it is at least 10 years old. The problem I am having is that the new beavertail will not line up with the holes in the frame for the safety pin (ie. the beavertail won't slide into the frame far enough). It looks like I need to file some metal off of the curved, palm of your hand, part of the beavertail. Is this a common problem or should I look for something else that could be wrong before I mess up the visible finish of the beavertail?

Thanks for your help,
Accountant
