| I still have my grandfathers Luger as well but he did not take it off a German soldier he was issued a Luger. Had your grandfather been captured and that pistol been found on him the SS would have executed him. They had orders any one caught with the P-08 was to be executed because American GIs were taking them as trophies. It did not stop them from taking them either. Nice piece of history. Also the history of the Luger is quite fascinating how the design hardly changed from inception to later models on a few minor changes were made. |
