Bought a Glock 42 January 2015, have had it almost a solid year.  When I buy
a new gun I like to keep track of rounds thru it and after today I have shot 486
rounds without a single issue.  I haven't shot it in at least 6 months, and I had
forgotten how soft the damn thing shoots.  I also have a glock 43, but I actually
like the 42 better.
Just wondering if its me, or if other folks prefer the 42 over the 43.

I hated the fact that the 42 was a .380 when it was announced.   I never liked shooting them, but the wife seemed to enjoy it so I scored one as a prize from a GSSF match.   I set up to reload .380 due to the horrible prices on it's ammo and was able to put quite a few rounds through it after I got the gun.

When the 43 came out I pre-ordered it.   I had it for few months, but I didn't feel it really fit in.   I carry a G19 most of the time, and I have the 42 if I wanted something smaller.  The 43 was big enough it didn't seem much smaller than the 19 and it didn't gain anything over the 42 for the size difference.   I ended up selling the 43.

I still don't fully embrace the .380 as a carry round but I've been toying around with it.   It is, by far, the best .380 I've ever shot.   I won another gun with it while using it in the "Pocket Glock" division in GSSF.   I think I threw one charlie at the 25 yard target.   That's pretty damn good for a tiny Glock with a factory trigger.

Yeah, I bought a 42 planning on picking up a 43, already had a Shield which I really liked. Well dang, didn't take long for me to decide I love that little 42.

I ended up never buying a 43 and my Shield now sits in the big safe week after week. I've still got some concern over 380 vs 9mm  and I think it's a valid concern. Watched a quite a few 380 ammunition test videos and found a couple of good options. The Hornady XTP Custom and XTP American Gunner being two of them.

Their's never a time when I say, "I just don't want to bother to carry today."  The G42 is just so easy. As far as shooting it's a great great gun. I couldn't shoot more than a mag through my Bodygaurd, I can shoot that little 42 all day.

Yep, it might just be my favorite gun.

(Though it wouldn't be my choice if I were faced with "You can only own one gun")

IMO, the 42 is too big for a .380.

I've got both the 42 and 43. I also prefer to shoot the 42. It is one of the most fun guns I have.  I love it and won't sell it.  Don't get me wrong, I love the 43, as well, and it is fun.  The 42 is just more fun.

My 42 recently has had some FTE's on cheap ammo, such as WWB and Blazer brass.  Not sure why. It used to eat this stuff for breakfast.  I've given it a good cleaning and go-over, and everything looks good as new.  I'll put a few rounds down range this weekend to see what's up.  If it still does it, I'll send it back to Glock to see if they can make it right.  I've probably got a total of 450 rounds through it.

Bought a 42 when they first came out. It was an absolute piece of garbage (never did find any ammo except HydraShoks that wouldn't FTF) so I dumped it. Bought a 43 when they first came out and I absolutely love it. Zero problems.

Meh....   I have an LCP also.   The 42 is much, much nicer to shoot.

42 guy here, no desire for the 43.

Of course, I've had .380s for years though.

Of all the weaponry I have in my cache, the Glock 42 is my absolute favorite! Why? Because it is the weapon I can carry on my person at all times. Therefore, it is the most valued weapon I own.

I have the 42 and 43.
I carry both, depending on the occasion.
The 42 is lighter and easier to conceal no matter what someone else tells you.

I carry the 42 in an ankle holster a lot.

I have the 42 and love to shoot it.  It has eaten every brand I have fed it except it doesn't like PPU (Prvi Partizan).  BUT..........I carry my Kahr CM9 as it is nearly the exact same size as the 42, but is 9mm.   In fact it is about 1/4" shorter in length....

The 42 is a damn soft shooter.  But pros to cons I like my 43 better.

Yep, same here.  42 is good, but the 43 is just the more serious gun.
