Anyone hear anything about this? Cheers |
|
Here is a link to Springfields website for the XD .45 GAP. www.springfield-armory.com/prod-xdpstl-45gap.shtml |
I don't think it would require a completely new frame design, just a larger one? Wouldn't that be easier than redesigning/manufacturing a new slide/barrel? They already have both of those (essentially). Cheers |
|
I asked the SA reps at the last NRA national show I was at. They said it's never gonna happen. It would require a completely updated frame and they already have a full line of real .45s. They even have high cap 1911s. So no need to wish. The glock's better anyway |
Maybe I should have been clearer ( but I think the other Glockers got what I meant). When I said new design, I simply meant that the grip would have to be larger and - since the grip is part of the frame on a polymer-framed pistol - a completely new frame mold would have to be designed/engineered/created. I agree that they could produce a frame very similar in design and operation to the existing one - but it would still be a completely new frame.
Same answer - that few mm difference in case length mandates a larger grip. (FTR: This is all supposition on my part. I'm a Glock guy & don't own any XDs, but I believe the grip-size limitations are comparable. If not, I'm sure someone who knows better will come along and correct me. |
"QUALITY" what the HELL are you talking about dumb ass, quality yeah the XD is ALL that ,um what up with that RUST ??? QUALITY. the GLOCK is like a fucking TANK!!! The GLOCK under ALL those TEST dont even RUST , the shitty ass XD RUSTS ALL BY ITS SELF !!!!! Oh damn hit the wrong key ..... |
OMG you are a fucking idiot. q = lowercase Q. Learn to read dipshit |
Thanks jerk off !!! just hit the wrong key asshole........ |
I think they solved that issue. I bought my XD-40 back in December and purposely have avoided putting ANY oil, CLP, etc., on it just to see if it started to rust so I could send it in to Springfield and have it recoated. Guess what....no rust. Personally, I didn't like Glocks that I've handled, but I picked up an XD and it just fit. I think XD rust issues parallel Glock kabooms. Not many people have them, but when they do, they hop on the internet and the shit storm starts. WIZZO |
With responses like yours in this thread you've got a lot of nerve caling anyone a
|
Treat it like any other blued pistol, and it will be fine. Ignore it and treat it like shit, and you'll have problems. |
+1 |
What are you talking about ? What, that I hit the wrong key ? Or my negative response to the XD ? |
|
When I was working in a local gunshop/range I was told by a springfield rep. that they want to do a 45ACP XD but the R&D pepole at SA were tied up working on millitary projects (this was sometime back ) and that is would be a while before they could get to it if they still thought that demand for it was there. I guess its like any thing else keep the calls and the e-mails flowing and my be one day they will pop one out |

Have two XDs, have had them for about a year. No failures, no rust, just quality. I don't like the Glock's grip angle. Glock is a good gun, but not for me. I hate all this XD vs. Glock shit. Oh yeah, my XD subcompact has 3,000 rounds through it in one year. I love that little 9mm! My XD service has about 1200 rounds through it without any issues as of yet. If I didn't like these guns I might have to do what that guy from ADCO did to his Glock and beat the ever living piss out it. Glocks work, so do XDs. Glockers should not be threatened by the XD. It will not hurt you. |
