ALRIGHT!!!

I picked her up on Friday and put 200 rounds through her.  Absolutely perfect!  Accurate as all get out too.  I ordered a Talon and had it spec'd as follows...

NO mim
NO forward cocking serrations
NO serrating on top of slide
Heinie slant pro rear sight
rear of slide serrated to match Heinie sight
Tritium front sight
long solid Greider trigger
"naked" slide (no markings)
Strong side safety (no ambi)
barrel crown flush with bushing
stainless bushing

I'm in love!

I want to say a HUGE +1 for Keith and the guys at Nighthawk.  This beaut was delivered a little less than four weeks after it was ordered.  Keith called me several times during the build process to let me know how things were going etc.  Keith is one of the nicest guys you can imagine, and exemplifies customer service.  Another huge +1 for Scott at Freedom Armory in Shrewsbury, PA.  I've bought a LOT of guns from him and he's now a Nighthawk dealer too!

Thanks man!  I just ordered four Wilson 47D's from Midway today (they have 'em on sale for $21.99).  The Novak's seem to work well though.

All I need now is a VM II (for when we move down to VA  )

Wow, the fit on the crown and bushing is outstanding.  And the way you specified your build is exactly how I would want mine, except I would probably want a skeletonized trigger and I wouldn't want the rear of the slide serrated.  Other than that its exactly what I would have specified.

We need pics of groupings and pics of the gun in action.

That is nice.  In fact it's the first Nighthawk I've seen that I've liked.  Glad to hear they'll customize it to your specs instead of theirs.

Ken,

That's one of the big reasons I went with them.  A lot of people seem to be leary of 'em because they're "new" and "unproven".  To me, that's kinda silly.  I mean, it's not like it's a company with 'smiths who have never built guns before.  They're "master smiths", just working for a different name.  The way I see it, is that's a good reason to go with them.  I figure, if they're new in the high end 1911 market, they're gonna make damn sure they offer the best freakin' product they can, and do just about anything to make a customer happy.  Now, I don't know if they're always going to be so accomodating with custom changes (I sure hope so), but if I were contemplating getting one, I'd do it sooner than later.  Only problem is, now I got the 1911 bug really bad....

Did I mention that it was done in less than a month?!

Spectre,
STI makes the slides and frames for 'em.

Almost PERFECT!

Different mags (Wilson )
Low profile Novak sights
And better looking grips

But all that is really cosmetic preference for me, but still a great looking peice!
