| I am unfamiliar with this brand, but I keep seeing it. Is it in the "Saturday Night Special" category with Jimenez & Cobra or in the "Adequate" category with Taurus and Bersa? |

My experience with the db380 was terrible. Trigger would not reset. I would have to manually cycle the slide about 7-8 times to get the trigger to reset. I sent it in back. Within 50 rounds it was doing it again. I sent it back, they sent me a brand new gun. I sold it.
I was an early adopter and was really excited about the gun at the time. Since then their design has had some significant changes, and I have no experience with the new design or the db9. I just sort of swore the company off after my experience. For what it is worth, their customer service was outstanding. I talked to a real person and the lady transferred me to speak with a guy in the shop that would be working on my gun so I could explain exactly what was happening with it. In general, I think small guns are harder to make reliable and durable. |
| I have one of their uppers from their Black Friday sale. I paid $208 for it. Haven't shot it yet, but seems well made, and the parts, while not high end, don't seem junky. Only "complaint" is that the carbine length ff forend is a little heavy, but for $200, it was a heck of a value, and I wish I'd bought 10 of them. |
| DB380 owner checking in. It's been mostly reliable. I had a couple feeding issues, but that was when it was new. I believe I was the cause by not having a firm grip, they have a snappy recoil. The back strap had a rather pointy spur that would dig into my gut (appendix carry). I corrected it by grinding it down and re-texturing. It's not my go to gun, but it's small enough that it disappears. I usually carry 2 magazines in front pocket. |
| Bought the 380 DB when they came out. Had to send back for repair several times and never would work right. The gun store that I got it at allowed me to trade it in at no loss to me. The others that they sold also had issues and they did the same for them and shortly stopped carrying that brand. To this day they do not sell DB. |

I have a DB9, great concept, very light, usable sights, pretty darn good trigger compared to most models around its size, surprisingly accurate.
The downers, they went too far in pursuit of lightness, pretty sure that's why the triggers break, pretty sure that's why the RSA had to be redesigned, that's why they don't have a slide lock/stop, and that's why they don't rate it for 125+gr bullets or plus Ps. I don't know how many generations of DB9 there are now, some of the issues have been addressed. What really pisses me off, is they know, and they don't issue recalls, they wait for them to break, and when you call to warranty it they tell you, "oh yeah we know exactly what you're talking about it, we've redesigned those parts." Conveniently I just asked for the parts and they mailed them the next day. TL/DR I don't recommend them. |

I think the thing is that most people will buy a gun like this, Shoot a couple of magazines through it, and start carrying it and rarely if ever shoot it. Most of us in this forum go through more ammo on a Saturday morning than the average gun owner will shoot in their lifetime. For those people, they will never find a problem with them. I think the DB9 is a great concept as well, I think that the company lacked/lacks the funds or will to properly test the gun for durability and reliability. So the end user becomes the beta tester. I honestly hope they can one day get their design right. The sights were decent on the gun and the trigger was one of the best for a pocket gun I had tried. |
| My DB380 was terrible, tried multiple ammo & mags but never would run thru a full mag without misfeeding or failing to eject. Shame because the few times it did fire it was accurate and the ergonomics were nice. But reliability was terrible. I tried every trick I knew, polished the ramps, put it in a vice to make sure I wasn't limp wristing it, from the first round to the last it was a dog. Can't remember which s/n range mine was but the DB380 had been out for over a year and several design changes has been implemented to mine. Then at 300 rounds the trigger bar broke and that was it. Kel Tec and Hi Point make better firearms than DB in my opinion. |
