I don't get it. I see all kinds of nice .45's with the idiot scratches on them. What is the deal? It just ain't that hard to get 'em back together without scratching the crap out of it.

Rant off, thanks.

You are worried about scratching a tool that usually sees a lot of abuse if carried daily and operates with a controlled chemical explosion and propels lethal objects that kill people?

oh how could I forget?  the only .45 ever made was the M1911 and its clones and variants.

I put an "idiot mark" on both of my 1911's, so what?

I don't get it. Why do you give a shit? It is a tool, not an art masterpiece. Geez, some guys need to get the sand out of their vagina before they come on here.

I disagree. Not every handgun I own is a tool. Why get personal man? This was not directed at you specifically.

I guess I should have known better than to think outloud. My bad.

Yeah but you were talking about other peoples' 1911s, not your own.

Whether you know it or not you called a large group of people idiots and stupid. You are suprised some people take that personal ?

So, why don't you help out the "idiots" and post a pictoral of the proper way to install the slide stop to avoid "idiot marks"?

The surface created by the relief cut around the trigger just looks way too much like a ramp for the slide stop for some people to resist.

Anykey , are you refering to my 1911 the other week at the FTF for the vepr my buddy just bought from you!

just kidding with you mine has tiny wear marks but I don't mind them .

btw that vepr was sssswwwwweeeeeeeeeeeet! we got it to his house and the balence and heft of that rifle just kept us from doing our WECSOG.  he had to go back over and pick it up and fondle it every once in a while!

Man, I did not mean to stir this up, I'm not calling anybody an idiot, and I retract everything I thought about this issue.

I just saw a photo of someone selling a beautiful Colt with a big scratch on it and it just hit me that it seems like I see that more and more on nice 1911's. Its none of my damn business.

Glad the VEPR worked out.

If the Mods could delete this, I would really appreciate it.
