Have a Glock 30S shot a XDS 3.3 and noticed that the trigger seemed to have a lighter
pull and that the overall size of the XD was considerably smaller.
Should I sell my 30S?
It seemed like the XDS would be easier to carry.

Do what you think is right and is subjective to you. That is the best decision.

In before the XD bashers come in and start getting upset.

I've had good experiences with both glocks and Xd's. My main carry gun is a glock but my XD 45 tactical with a light is my "bump in the night" gun.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Keep your 30S.

Changing the trigger up on your 30 is as easy as pushing out a few pins and replacing about $20 ins parts.  New - connector with a competition heavy trigger spring.  You can go a step further and get the Glock smooth trigger to get rid of the damn ribbed on.

As has been said, you can probably improve your Glock trigger...  but you probably can't make it smaller.

Then again, I don't see a lot of people raving about the factory XDs trigger, particularly after the recall, so maybe the one you shot had an aftermarket trigger?

Honestly, I think this decision is down to size.  If you think the XDs is going to be easier to carry, that's a strong argument in its favor if you're having trouble with the 30S.  OTOH, if the 30S is working for you concealment-wise, I don't know that I'd switch just for the alleged better trigger...

Glock, Sig, HK, S&W, Beretta..... All are better than XD.

The XD was a great $300 gun before SA ran with it and increased the price with a name.

What ^he said, the HS2000 was a good $2-250 gun but i hate the grip safety and its not good enough for me to $500+

I've shot both......and I decided on an XD-40 tactical.  100% reliable, and fun to shoot. I wouldn't trade it for a Glock...but that's just me.

Gotta agree with this.

If it’s just the trigger you don’t like on your G30, swap out some parts and make it better suited for you. You can’t, however, make the G30 thinner… so if it’s thin you want, the XD is the clear choice.

You won’t often find me recommending an XD over a Glock, but the XD lineup has some options the Glock lineup doesn’t.

Triggers are not a big issue with me, it was the size difference that
impressed me.
I'll have to think about this one.

Glock is the answer here.  G30S is a great gun.

Don't let the trigger be the determining issue with polymer guns.

Glock can be improved with a connector and springs for about $25.  If you spend more you can get it as nice as you want.

XDS factory trigger sucks like a factory glock trigger, just stiffer.  A $25 PRP spring kit, bending the leg of the grip safety spring that hits the sear, and a fluff and buff makes it SWEET.  much better than a $100 glock kit.  PRP spring kit review

Go by size and what fits you.  Trigger preference can be bought and tuned later unless you are trying to emulate a 1911.

Though I have slightly different preferences than Blackfriar, I agree that XD and Glock are very similar. I actually slightly prefer XD models over Glock in the factory configuration (Better grip, Slide stop, mag release, trigger).

If you want to start changing things up, Glock has more and better priced accessories that are easier to find. If you go the XD route, you might want to check the price and availability of any add-ons in advance. I just got rid of an XD tactical, because it was a pain to find holsters and threaded barrels. And everything Imcould find way was more expensive.

Both great guns.  I love Glock.  Ease of use and take down.  So little parts.  All mine have been flawless.  Pick what you feel comfortable with in hand and shooting.

I used to have several Sig Sauer pistols chambered in 45acp.  Sold them all and got a Glock 30 gen 3 a few years ago.  All better now.  As for the trigger, I got an aftermarket connector and springs and my Glock 30 trigger is where I want it to be.

I bought a Glock 30 S about a year ago. Nice gun, but the trigger was heavier than my other Glocks. I didn't what a 3 lb. connector because I was carrying this gun. I ended up getting a Ghost 4.5 Ranger connector.
Trigger pull is a hair lighter and a whole bunch cleaner.

The XDS are great guns. But if it's just the trigger bothering you get a Ranger connector for $20. It takes ten mins for a drop in install.

Definitely prefer Glock over the XD.  Not even close.  Any manufacturer that feels the need to stamp "Grip Zone" on their handguns is just Gay!

My advice is that if the XD really intrigues you then buy it BEFORE selling your Glock. Shoot it side by side with your Glock for a couple of months before make a decision. If you like it better then keep it and sell the Glock, if not sell the XD.
