I have to give a shout out to Steve at guiderod.com. I got a SS guide rod for my SP2022. It dominates the factory polymer GR. Not only is the new piece well made, smooth and clean finished, it is functionally better than the factory polymer due to a taper he puts on the fat end (obviously the technical term). Much easier installation. Shipping was incredibly fast. He personally hand writes a thank you on the receipt in the box and emails you thanking you for your order after it is processed. It also comes in a nice little tube, I put the old polymer in there to save. Just overall good, honest, fast business. If you are in the market for a plain or checkered (bedazzled lol) guide rod, check out Bedair Machine Works LLC.

I have one of his guide rods in my CZ75B.  Bought it to replace the factory plastic rod.

When you say it is functionally better - were you having any issues with the stock/factory guide rod?

No I was not having any problems with the factory plastic rod, but the way the factory was made had no taper around the top "head", making it difficult sometimes to slip it back into place. The SS guide rod I have now has that tapered edge, making it easier to slip it back into place as there is no hard edge to catch the other components as it goes in. So I guess I misspoke when I said "functionally" better, sorry, I guess I meant more convenient/user friendly for dis-n-ass.

Ah, got it. I ask because many times the aftermarket products cause issues where there previously was none.

Gotcha, I could see how that's a concern. I will update if I encounter anything, but so far so good.
