Hey guys, I picked up a 9mm shield a few weeks ago and have a couple hundred rounds through it so far.

The pistol shoots great just as I experienced with all of the other shields I've shot, but the first thing I noticed about mine is that it shoots about 4 inches high (but dead center windage) at 10 yards.  I've shot other shields and my POA always matched POI. My friends that have shot my pistol all experienced the same thing with my pistol.

Has anybody else experienced this, and is there anything that I can do to correct it aside from aiming 4 inches low?

I don't have experience with the Shield line, but some american gun manufacturers use a 6 o'clock hold instead of POA/POI.  Springfield XDs do this (I know it's Croatian, but it's designed for the american market).  It's kind of like imagining a pumpkin on a post or a lollypop when you look at your front sight, and you aim accordingly.  My XDSC used to be like that, but I changed out the factory sights and now it shoots POA/POI.  Changing the sights is the only way I'm aware of to change this.

thanks for the replies so far.  as far as the 6 oclock hold (which I'm familiar with but not a fan of), I don't think that S&W typically utilizes a 6 o'clock sight picture on the shields because I have shot other shields that I don't have this problem with. This is also utilizing the same ammo in my pistol that I used in the others (winchester white box 115g).

I had this EXACT issue with my Shield (bought in March I think).  It was a GREAT group, but about 4" high at 8-10Y.
I recently changed to the Defoor sights, and I'm going to see how they shoot.  I really like my guns to be dead on at 25Y.

NOTE:  I was shooting only 115gr American Eagle, so perhaps 124 or 147gr will help to drop it.

If anything it will raise the point of impact has to do with dwell time and recoil.

Shield has a short barrel so this effect may be less noticable.

Has anyone else shot your pistol?... Same results?

Tried different ammo?  Different weight, muzzle velocity or manufacturer can make a big difference.
