Looks like a winner. |

34 and 35 didn't come with any of those - no reason to think the 41 would either..... I like it, not enough to swap my 35 for but it should be a nice shooter Quoted:

It's not like doing that would have been innovative considering they're late to the party on it anyway, but all they did was make a longer .45 barrel and use a frame and slide they already make. They should have already been making this gun. Oh well, I guess they could make rubber dog shit with a G on it and people would buy it up.

You can't expect Glock to give you all of that out of the box. Who do you think they are, Smith & Wesson? ![]() Quoted:

Jeez ladies, get yourself a few hand tools and model the gun the way you want it.
Gun looks great. I don't have a use for such a large .45 pistol, but it's cool nonetheless. |

Gun looks great. I don't have a use for such a large .45 pistol, but it's cool nonetheless. Their CORE models come in a long slide, with an optic area milled out on the slide, and suppressor height sights. Nothing in .45 yet, but there have been rumors that they will be releasing a .45 version this year or next. Either way, I think the Glock 41 is neat. I just wanted to troll a bit. :P |

Partly cool, partly not so cool. I like that it's basically a .45 version of the 34/35 without the cutout in the top. But why the thinner slide? Yes I know to save weight, but that's going to increase felt recoil as they say it weighs less than a 21, and according to G&A (which isn't reliable), it weighs less than a G35 .40. Velocity increase isn't that much with standard .45 ACP loads, so it won't be much faster. I like to shoot .45 Super from time to time and a lighter slide is just the opposite of what you want. Big deal right? Well how many have already clamored for a 10mm version? Is it too going to have the thin slide and be lighter in weight than a G20? That's not only an increase in recoil, but possibly an increase in problems because lighter slides move faster than heavier slides with the same loads and at a point (using nuclear 10mm loads for instance), the magazine spring can't keep up causing problems in feeding which is why a heavier slide would be preferred even if it makes it a few ounces heavier than the G20/21. Even running a 35 with warm .40 loads the slide gets to the point of moving too fast and really beating up the brass, I could only imagine how much worse it would be with a nuclear 10mm or warm .45 Super. I think Glock should have left the slide fat, but add a cutout up top and allow it to be a few ounces heavier than the 21, not lighter. |

Would be great if GLOCK made the ATOM mount a factory option. That would put them far ahead of S&W and FN as optics ready pistols go. |

Meh...They should have made a 21S. This is basically a 30S with a Prac/Tac slide and full size frame. Why would you buy a 5" Glock 41 over a 1911? I'll buy a G41 over another 1911. I tried to carry a 5" railgun for awhile, and didn't care for it, while I have zero issues carrying my G21. If this is thinner, and lighter, why wouldn't I? As a side note, I'm sure a G21S is coming eventually. |

For the same reason someone would buy a 4" Glock 21 over a commander model, or a Glock 30 over an Officer's model I guess. No, this is the Glock 1911... http://cdn.glockforum.com/forum/attachments/f8/37863d1357604065-glock-1911-image-2794809248.jpg

What happened to the Glock 40? You know, the gun that DEA agents use to shoot themselves in the leg? Word going around (true or not) is that the "40" designation was skipped to avoid confusion. ![]() I asked Glock at Media day about the caliber confusion thing, and the PR people said that they honestly didn't know but that it would make sense if that were the reasoning. I guess we'll know if they skip 45 too For the record, the 41 shoots pretty well. I think it might be balanced a little better than the 21, but that stuff is all personal preference, so YMMV. |

The G40 will be a .22 cal .....just as the G22 is a .40 cal....
The G20 guys can get an extended G20 barrel to drop into their G20's. Works great without an extended slide. I was able to put my hands on a G41 and G42. The G41's a G21 with a longer slide/barrel. + The G42 is nice and small and feels good in the hand. I don't foresee getting either but they'll work for some people who want those features in a handgun. I think the G42 will sell like hotcakes just because of the popularity of the .380 here in the US. |
