What is the best thing to paint the letters on the slide and polymer grip on a hand gun. I have a XDm compact that I want to color in the letters on but I dont know what the best thing to use is.

Pretty much anything will work OK. Testors model enamel, acrylic, etc.

Lacquer Stik from Brownell works very well. Takes a long time (like a week) to completely harden, but after that, it's very durable.

I have seen some people use crayons but melting thing but I dont seen how it wouldnt wear off

I used paint sticks that are used in welding.
The paint sticks come in white and yellow, not sure if any other colors are available.
Rub it on,wipe it off and forget about it. I did my XD9 in 06,haven't had to retouch since.
