[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Sig P227

I have been looking at the gun auction sites and noticed that the new P227, double stack .45 is out. Has anyone bought, or shot one yet? I loved my old 220 and if the 227 is similar in feel I may have to pick one up when I get CONUS. Any feedback appreciated.

Is it really a true double stack or is it a 1 1/2 stack because it only holds 2 additional rounds over the P220?

I believe that although the frame is different, the top end is exactly the same as a 220 and they are interchangeable.

From what I understand the 227 does indeed accept the other 220 slides. The frame is supposedly like a ever slightly larger 226 with E2 grips.

Really considering getting a 227. I want a new .45ACP with decent capacity. Thinking about carry as an option, concerned it may be on the large side?

Also considering CZ-97, but I think that is even larger and heavier which takes away the carry option.

Thanks for the replies. Guess my searching abilities are weak since I did a search before posting. Hoping they come out with a SAO for this model soon.
