I have a Browning Buckmark and want to make some modifications. I was looking at Tactical Solutions rail system and Trail Lite barrels. I was also looking at Burris's Fastfire II for an optic. I know the Tactical Solutions stuff is GTG. Any thoughts on the Fastfire? I'm also trying to decide what barrel length to get. My Buckmark has a 5" barrel now. I like the length, but I also like the idea of adding the compensator in the future. Not sure if I want the 5.5" barrel then adding the compensator. Maybe I'll decide on one length now and in ARFCOM fashion get both eventually.

You'll want a shorter barrel so bulk ammo stats subsonic. Buy a threaded one now.

Sorry, I read suppressor, not compensator. Ignore me!

I went with a 4" Tac Sol and their comp.
In fact I bought 2 comps then decided to leave the other Buckmark stock,...

Are you happy with the setup? Do you notice any accuracy issues?

Balance feels better, gun is lighter and actually shoots better with Blazer bulk ammo than the original barrel.
I went with matte green barrel and comp, the colors do not match...oh well..
Spare comp is matte black...

If you haven't done so already, probably the best mod you can do is the sear spring flip to lighten up the trigger. Big difference from stock. Spring Flip
The TacSol rail with the integrated rear sight is nice if you still want to shoot with irons from time to time.
For the red dot I went with the Fastfire 3. Plenty bright even in the brightest daylight and the battery can be replaced without removing the sight.
I also added TacSol's  extended mag release and removed the magazine disconnect.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that spring flip.

I have a Burris FF II.  It is plenty bright but does have some flare--dot's edges are not clearly defined.  I have read on the internetz that this is common to the FF II model.

I put a Tactical Solutions threaded barrel on my old Buckmark Camper 5" and it shoots great, and lightens the weight up too.  I don't have any special optic on it, but I do run their fiber optic front sight, and it works great.

This.  Love that barrel.  Threaded for my outback 2

They're nice, but impractical. Sighting them in is a pain. If you really must have a small sight, go for it. Otherwise go with something else. Like this:

All my Buckmark's have over-travel screws installed in the trigger. Easy mod to do.

I like the tacsol rail but the screws aren't recessed for the lock washer so the screws are constantly backing out. So I actually went back to the stock sights....
