You picked a GREAT gun for your first gun, which is both good and bad. Good that you'll have no problems with it, but bad that you've set the bar REALLY high for follow-up gun choices. ETA: I don't know why I read it as though it was your very first handgun. lol, HK's are the ONLY handguns I buy. Nothing else feels right or is more difficult to operate than a USP for me. |

Why not an Hk45? Wouldn't that be a lot more modern than the 1994-era USP? My thought as well. The HK45 is superior in every way to that club that they call a USP. Not for this lefty. I can't use my trigger finger to release the slide on the HK45 as I can with the USP. |

The USP45 is about $200 cheaper than the HK45. Or you could upgrade to the USP-T with the match trigger, TB, adjustable sights, and Tactical rollmark (if that’s important to you) and pay about the same price as a standard HK45. Plus, UPS45 holds two more rounds. When you add all that up, USP45 > HK45 |

Excellent choice! I have the exact same thing. Actually yours was made this year, just like mine, and you serial number is only 36 higher than mine. I thought that was pretty cool! I would recommend the Meprolight Tall Adjustable night sights. I love mine! Here's a pic of them.

My thread protector finally came in last night: http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo157/Furyataurus/004-37_zps91b7ca7d.jpg That's a short GG&G rail adapter for the USPC model but it works just fine on the USP Tac 45. She'll be a nightstand gun when I buy more mags and JHP ammo when they become available. Your safety is on the wrong side.
I just put a Surefire X400 on mine. The laser is much to low though. Not sure how to fix that at the moment. |
