I saw a Rossi .357 revolver in a shop and was wondering if they are any good.  The price is what first got my attention.  I like a bargain, but won't waste money on an unreliable defensive firearm.

Anybody had any experience with this brand?

I have a Rossi .38 that is 25+ years old (the last 6 of which I have owned it) and I Have never had any problems with it.

And it has a lifetime warranty too.

I almost bought one 10 years ago when I bought my Ruger GP100.  They looked fairly similar, but when I handled them both the Ruger "felt" a little more substantial.  To me, it wasn't worth taking a chance for the $100 difference, but it could have been a great bargain.  I would think that if you plan on shooting mostly 38 special, or even +P, the Rossi would serve you well.  I have also heard some good things about Taurus revolvers which may be a little more reasonable than Ruger or Smith and Wesson.

Had 2 took em both back.  .38sp and .44sp, .44 broke and couldn't hit shit with the .38 snubby.  I do fine with every other gun I have.

Sounds like it's luck of the draw.  There was a bunch of 5-star ratings at www.handgunreview.com, and mixed comments here.

Hmmm... a crap shoot?

Had a .357 a few years back, it worked fine.  My buddy owns it now and still shoots it occasionally.  Fit and finish weren't quite up to S&W standards though.
