| I have a chance to trade a like new Beretta M9 for a new Glock 20SF. Anything to keep in mind other than 10mm ammo is impossible to find? |

10mm is not impossible to find, all way's see it on the shelves. Now 9mm, 45 ACP and 22 LR is another story If it wasn't for the lack of 10mm ammo I would have no hesitation about trading. The only thing that pops up at local stores here is 40S&W every once in a while. Hopefully this crap will calm down soon. |
| Do it, there is plenty 10mm available, locally for me and online. I just ordered 10/50rd boxes for $23 each at Midwayusa, another 10/50rd boxes for $18.95 each at AIM, PSA has some in stock in the mid $20 range, Grafs has some in stock. 10mm can be pricey but it is available unlike the common calibers.Use the Gunbot website, they list deals for 10mm, Gunbot |

Unless you have a niche the 10mm will fill, and a whole bunch of other 9mm pistols, I wouldn't do the trade. You're losing money on it, and the Beretta is a nice pistol.
The 20SF is pretty much fine right out of the box. Some possible "upgrades" would be an extended mag release and some people go with a stronger spring. <---own a 20SF and a civvy version Beretta M9. I like them both, but shoot the Beretta just about every range session. |

I also put an $80 set of grips and a short reach trigger on the M9. I have a Glock 22 (short 10mm) but will eventually get the Glock 20. I've always had a spot for the niche calibers, 10mm, 357sig, etc. Maybe I will stumble upon a Gen4 20. |

Make your own 10mm Also you can get .40S&W conversion barrels, and I think you can convert to .45ACP also |

You should get a 10mm someday. Yeah, I can't find ammo locally myself, but I can easily mail order it. It's better than my 9mm in that regard, there's no 9mm to be had locally OR online! :-)
I wouldn't trade a Beretta for a Glock though. Buy the Glock sure, but don't get rid of the Beretta! |

Do you have another 9mm? If so, then I would say go for it. Price wise they are fairly comparable new.
If you do not have another 9mm to shoot then I would say keep the Beretta and get a 10mm later. I have G20sf and like it a lot. I've put a 6" hunter barrel in it and upgraded the trigger. I reload so ammo is no issue other than finding components. You can get a .40 barrel too for the G20sf for cheaper plinking. |

With the advent of a new thing called "The Internet" it is possible for ammunition to be delivered right to your door! This way you can be sure to have ammo available and not depend on your LGS to stock your caliber.
I'd trade my 92F for a SF G20 in a heartbeat! |
