| The slide’s locked back with the magazine out on my 1911. My question is…if I insert a single round through the ejection port and gently lower the slide could this damage the extractor or other parts? |

It could, because the chamber was made to receive the bullet coming in at an angle, and therefore the rim of the cartrige would "Slip" under the extractor claw, sort of. I'm not sure how bad it would actually damage the extractor though, like steel cases vs. brass cases, I think damage would be so minimal. |
