Between the Colt Defender in .45 ACP and the Sig Sauer 220 in .45 ACP. My grandson is hot for the Colt but I like the looks of the Sig Mod # 220R345 SS E. If you have exprience with either pistol and the time, please comment. I have neither handeled nor shot either one. That is why I ask. Thanks

I have had a 220 and several 5 inch 1911s. I sold the 220 in favor of the 1911s. the SIG was great but preference won out. I still have a 226 and 239 but the 220  felt clunky compared to the 1911s.

I would look at the commanders over the defender though.

Both are great choices, pretty much boils down to whether you want a DA/SA gun or a SAO gun. Aftermarket will greatly favor the Colt though if that helps. Both will hold their value well though if you find out you didn't make the right choice.

Get the best of both, a Sig 220 SAO Carry model. Great trigger and way less finicky than a 1911.
