I am going to build a 1911 and would like any input on what everyone likes and has worked for them.  I am using a Rock River Arms frame and slide; 5 “ with double serrations.  Other than that, I am open to suggestions on all parts and the final finish of the pistol.  I like Wilson Combat because they manufacture quality parts (from what I have seen) and their prices are better than other custom manufacturers.

Please give me some ideas for my project.  This gun will be primarily a CCW, but I will use it to shoot IDPA.

Thanks for your input,

James S.

Keep it Simple, go slow and check fit often. I like Brown parts myself.

I prefer Brown Hardcore parts across the board, for the most part.

Be well!

I like Brown and Wilson parts. Get a Ed Brown MSH, FP and Hard Core Slide Stop. They are very well made. I chose a Wilson Bullet Proof FP stop and a Wilson A-2 Sear and Ultralight Commander Hammer. Use Wilson for all of the small parts like the pins and MSH internal. Go with Wolff springs. The Wilson Bullet Proof Extractor is very good too.
