I have my EDC , a Kahr P9 that I absolutely love.
I wanted a full size non polymer 9mm and I got a CZ 85B. I wanted a 75B but was having a hard time finding one local at the time. Now the void I am trying to fill is a combat style/nightstand weapon. I know both the weapons I have listed now will work, but I want something dedicated with slide for a light. I was thinking M&P 9mm or something similar. Since I don't have a 45 , I was also thinking the FN .45 due to its capacity and good reviews. I know it just gets more expensive to practice with .45 regularly. Another void I was looking into was a pocket/bug. My buddy has a NAA 22 and likes it a lot. That 22 long is loud as hell and packs a little punch for its size. Suggestions please. |

Nightstand:
9mm or .45 in either the M&P or FNP/X platforms is a good choice. I think you'll find you'll shoot the 9mm more than the .45, and capacity is your friend in a home defense scenario. Pocket / BUG: .380 or .38 Spl is the minimum I'd recommend for one of these, if you are seriously considering the possibility of having to pump bullets into someone. The similar-sized 9mms are even better. S&W Airweight J-frame like a 442 / 642 is hard to beat for concealability and dependability. Ruger's LCP / LC9 or similar for an auto. I own a Kel-tec P3AT, but with the advent of the Ruger product, I would go that route. |

Walther p99, FNP45, not your criteria but a 686 plus is a near perfect nightstand gun Since I don't have a 45 , I was also thinking the FN .45 due to its capacity and good reviews. For .45 I would get a Glock 21SF or M&P45. For a pocket gun the Ruger LCP is just about perfect, thin and light yet reliable. It is a compromise in performance but all small BUGs are. The NAAs are gimmicks and only marginally useful. this seems reasonable. thank you |
