Anybody own or fire a Diamondback DB9 pocket pistol 9mm?   I am intrigued with the small size of this firearm and feel it would slip into the front pocket of my jeans nicely.

Any opinions?   Any known problems?   Good value?

They go back for repairs all the time.

I have a DB380 (new manufacture) and its been fine up to 500 rounds.

I would look for one that has factory polished feed ramp and 'cut down' ejector. Those are a couple big issues people have had and they're now fixing those from the factory.

I looked at one a while back at my local gun shop. I asked the owner what he thought about them?  At least he was honest about them, he stated that they have been having a lot of problems, and that he would NOT recommend them.

The new ones seem to be better. Here is a review I did for my blog:

Nice review.

The design is too easy to limp wrist.

In a real life self defense scenario, firing with one hand, not having a perfect grip etc.. is normal. If the pistol can't perform under those conditions, why bother with it.

True, however I am not ready to blame the gun until I have ruled out user error ;-)

I really like my DB380 and DB9, had some teething problems with my original DB380 but got it switched out for a new model that has been flawless.  My DB9 has had no issues shooting with a two handed grip and limited strong hand only shooting.

As much as I love carrying the DB9 and I do carry it a lot, i'm starting to think twice before grabbing it.  I know the gun works fine, but having a proper grip and the possibility of having to shoot with my weak hand only have got me thinking about leaving it in the safe and grabbing my j-frame.

Love the size and weight of the gun, but I think that if DB could add 4-5 ounces to the guns frame it would just about be the perfect pocket gun.
