Hello again . . . Have a Glock 19 and Glock 26 for CCW, and really like them, but just one problem -- they are THICK ! ! So . . . . been thinking about getting a single-stack nine for CCW. Tried a Sig 239 but the grip "did not feel right". So . . . any thoughts/opinions of a single stack nine for CCW ? ? ? Thanks ! ! ! |

+1 for the kahr.Had a blued k9,seven shot single stack awesome little gun.Conceals great, always had 100% reliablity out of it and it was the most accurate dao 9mm I 've ever had.I was dumb enough to get caught up in the 45 or nothing mindset for a while and got rid of it. Needless to say I feel like quite the jackass now. Sureshot45 |
It's great. Same size as the classic .380, the Walther PPK, but hits like a sane load of .357. 7 or 6 plus one isn't a great handicap when the reload is a flat magazine rather than a speedloader or speedstrip. The Kahr is only three rounds less than a Glock 26, and much more packable: .90" versus 1.18" thick. Spare mags are also flatter. The Sig 225 is a little bulkier, but still very nice. Importantly, both have excellent grips. Accuracy on both is usually outstanding. I've run a steel Kahr K9 against bowling pins, shooting them in the "head" for leverage, five pins, five shots. If you have the Glock the Kahr is DAO as well, but with a longer trigger reset. The Sig 225 is a traditional DA/SA, but I believe can be converted to revolver-like DAO. Check out the Kahr P9 Polymer, or the PM9 Polymer Sub-compact to blow your mind. It's like picking up a scandium revolver. |
| P225. I am in complete agreement that the 225 just feels "right." I've had a couple and currently have one with just 50 rounds of 147gr. Winchester Ranger SXTs down the tube that I might be willing to part with. I see you are in Ohio as well, pm me if interested. |

I picked up a couple Star BM pistols a while back. 8 round single stack 9mm based on the 1911 design. Very nice, but I think they are still a bit too big and heavy for a concealed carry role. VERY accurate, and the trigger is very nice. Why can't someone make a nice scaled down 1911 in 9mm??? I'd be on it like white on rice! I've got a Colt Mustang .380, but would like something a little bigger, in 9mm! |
while it does have a little weight to it, I don't see the Star BM as that large. It's the size of a commander sized 1911 and is slimmer than the 1911 (slightly). |

but it's a .40
