I am waiting on my CHL and I have a question. The holster I am considering is an IWB tuckable holster, but I had a thought, do I need an IWB tuckable mag carrier? If so, how much bigger would I need my pants?

Do any of you guys have experience with this? I would appreciate the input.

Do you need one?  It depends on how you dress.  If you are wearing this with a dress slacks, button down shirt, tie, etc. and a mag case would stick out like a sore thumb, then yes, a more discreet holder would be needed.  Jeans/Khakis with something that looks like a knife holder wouldn't look out of place.  I have a Safariland 123 horizontal mag holder that I wear up front on the left side and no one even notices it here.  Worst case senario, you keep the mag in your pocket.

Do you need an IWB mag holster?  My answer is no.

I finally 'gave up' on IWB and just went to belt mounted.

Colder weather I wear a t-shirt and an over shirt.

Warmer weather, I dump the over shirt and pull out the t-shirt to cover things

IWB mag carry is pretty uncomfortable.  Get a pouch that does not drop much below the belt line and you will have no problem.  I use a Blade-Tech single or a Bianchi #30(?) double most often.

I use OWB mag holders only.

In warm weather I wear a wife beater type tank top under my t-shirt, tucked in and the tshirt untucked. My holster is IWB and the mag holder is OWB. This way you can dress light and still have a layer between your gun and mag and your skin. Helps to keep sweat off your stuff and your stuff from digging into your side.

Cold weather I do what fight4yourrights does.
