I just picked up a Sig p226 with the Crimson Trace grips.  I'm not a fan of the thickness and the laser but I do like the feel of the rubber.  What grips are you guys using on your Sigs?  Does Sig make factory rubber grips with thumb slots like CZ?  How about super thin grips?  Thanks.

I have the E2 grips on my P229. What a world of difference from the older stock factory plastic grips.

I love the slimmer E2 grips because of my smaller hands.

I'm using Hogue checkered G10 grips on my 226.  They are thinner than E2's and stock plastic grips.  They are also very expensive.

Before I changed to the DAK trigger, I was using E2 grips.  Excellent texture and slightly thinner than the stock plastic.

I either have the Crimson Trace laser grips like you have or the Hogue finger grip wraparounds grips. These give me the perfect hold on the trigger. YMMV.

Will the new e2 grips work on the  older  1996 Sig P229 40sw

I think so, but I don't know for sure.

I have a '95 P226 that I put the E2's on.  Like them a lot.

Yes.

Along with the E2 kit, you will need to make sure your gun has the current production mainspring and loop trigger bar spring.

I would check out hogue grips if you want rubber ones.

Their G10 grips are probably some of the thinnest ones, also.

I find I prefer checkered wood grips. Brownell's has a nice wood grip for the 226. The other company with good wood grips is Nill.
