I got to shoot the for the first time yesterday. Nice feeling little piece, the beveled MSH really makes this baby 1911 a keeper for me! Kimer's baby OACP & previous SA Micro's all cut into my palm. Recoil was certainly not uncomfortable despite the alloy frame & obviously much shorter slide. I was shooting PMC 230gr cheap stuff FMJ. The Micro also has a ramped barrel, a nice addition for sure. I shot from about 15-18 feet, nothing major. Groups were initially off to the right & averaging about 4" or so. I wasn't trying any sort of bullseye effort but did want some grouping idea of what it'd do. Groups did tighten up after about 50-60 rds. The point-of-impact also changed from 3" off to the right of the bullseye to pretty close to point-of-aim. Could be the gun breaking in, could be me adjusting, could be both in whatever porportion. The gun had a couple failure to go into complete battery. The gun is actually pretty tight, it'll loosen some as I shoot another couple hundred rds thru it & oil it real good. I bought with the gun two 7rd Chip McCormick mags, both worked as well as expected. I've also discovered it's a bitch to shoot a gun with bifocals! PITA! This gun will, maybe, replace my USP compact .357Sig as my main carry piece. It's a damn sight smaller & in .45acp to boot. Hard combo to beat, even for an H&K. The Micro is still a few hundred rds away from even being considered to be a carry gun though. It does have a kinda cool recoil spring set-up, a double captive spring system so parts won't got flying all over creation during a detail strip. Which reminds me, I have to learn how to do that with its ambi safety. Was it worth it? So far, yes. YMMV. |

Your right, I meant for reloads. I carry a short Wilson in the gun and I want to get some 8 rounders set up just for that gun. I've also got a Commander and the only 8 round mags I have are for that. (G) 47BOX This is what I'm talking about. Wilson |
| Really? I've got a couple McCormik 8 rounders that I've had for years. The springs are getting weak but I expect that. They were loaded for a long time when I forgot to down load them and went on deployment. I like my 7 rounder for carry and I'm going to get one or two more. Then I'll get a few 8 rounders for when I'm dressed up a little. My Wilson 10 rounders work flawlessly in it also and I usually carry two of those as reloads. They are a little long sometimes. Just me though. |
