I have this caliber in a Springfield Xd.
its not my primary handgun yes i got it for fun because its very expensive to shoot, a bedside gun really or glovebox gun. It was the complete gun. i shoot the same WWB ammo for target. Then i believe i have gold dots for defense |

I started with .40SW platforms (Glock, XD, P99) and bought .357sig barrels.
My reloading buddy tells me that he reloads by sizing the brass in a .40 die and then re-sizing it again in .357 die. I think the round fits the niche that the old .38 Super used to fill. It is fast, flat shooting, and penetrates. However, unlike .38 Super, .357sig does not give a magazine capacity advantage over .40SW the way .38 Super does over .45 ACP. |
| I've got a sig p226 in .357 sig. It is my carry gun (in rotation), and yes, got it for fun. And barrier penetration. At least that's what got my attention when I started reading about it. I started with a p226 in .40 and bought the sig branded .357 sig barrel. And with ammo for it being as expensive as it is, I've got 2 500rd bricks of lawman practice ammo and about 100 rounds of PP... At $27 for WWB ball ammo, it's not a gun that sees a ton of range time in it's current configuration. |

I no longer own a pistol in .357 SIG, but I have owned several, still have about 500 rounds of Speer Lawman target ammo/200 rounds of Gold Dot, and am tossing around the idea of getting another pistol in the caliber (Hence the reason I haven't cashed out my ammo).
To date, I have owned the following pistols in .357 SIG: 1) Glock 31 2) Glock 33 3) H&K P2000SK (also had a .40 S&W barrel for it, but always kept it in the factory .357 SIG configuration) 4) Glock 33 with OD green frame The G31 was always a range toy, and I never really cared much for it. Both G33's spent time as my off-duty/backup gun. The P2000SK was my off duty/backup gun for a good while. Personally, I really like the caliber. It's got a lot of heat behind it, good penetrative ability, and with the right loads... it expands quite nicely too. I have never found the recoil of the round to be too much, although it does make a LOT of noise. I also own/have owned various pistols in 10mm Auto, but I prefer the .357 SIG over it, as my handguns are primarily for defense against two-legged predators, and the .357 with a quality 125 grain defensive load is quite capable in that area. For me, the .357 SIG is second only to the .45 ACP. |

I recently picked up a Glock 31c and 32c. With the porting, there's less muzzle rise than with a .40. Just slightly more than a 9mm.
On hand right now, only about 200 rounds of WWB FMJ and about half of a .30 ammo can full of Gold Dots. Guess it's time to start reloading all the brass I have saved up. I have been using my 32c in an Andrews Leather McDaniel II as my daily carry. It hides when I'm just wearing shorts and a tank top. |
| I have two the first is a Sig P229 I purchased in 40 S&W and then changed out the barrel to 357 Sig, this is more a fun gun, I find the rounds to be very accurate and hard hitting at the same time. The second is a Sig P250sc which I also purchased in 40 S&W and changed out the barrel on. The P250sc is my daily carry gun, I like having the two barrels so I can swap out calibers as needed. As far as ammo for the carry gun one box of Speer gold dots and one of Hornady XTP. for the P229 I reload for it and have as much as I need. |

I like bottlenosed rounds so I have a Sig229 in this caliber. I bought the .40 and added a .357barrel.
I like it but it is getting too expensive to shoot. I almost never shoot the Sig with the .40 barrel. I also have a HK compact .40 I would love to convert but the HK barrels are too expensive. |

Just a heads-up....Mark at Summitgunbroker.com has some 31c, 32c and 33's in stock right now. They are in almost new condition with bright night sights. 31c's are $365, 32c's are $375 and the 33's are $385.
The 31c and 32c I got from him were almost new, with zero holster wear on them, but I've already added a little. I'm not trying to violate any rule here. I'm not selling them and have no interest in the sale whatsoever. I just got a good deal and wanted to pass it along. |
