Ive been wanting to find a reason to buy a 9mm, and I think this gun is the ticket.  Has anybody shot one or does someone own one that has any reccommendations towards this gun?  Ive found one on auctionarms.com and one on gunbroker.com, both are over $1000.

i had a chance to buy one a while back and i passed. Not sure why really. The are kinda neat i guess.  Never actually shot one though. I'd actuallybe interested in seeing how they are.

I have fired one before.  Fun to shoot, it is like firing a micro Uzi.  A little on the bulky side.  Accuracy is decent definately a spray and pray gun.

The SPP really isn't capable of 'spray and pray', though.  Unless you have a cyclic trigger finger.

I have had the hots for a SPP for years. I have handled a few and I really like them. CDNN was blowing them out years ago for 650. I was going to buy one for my 21st birthday for 700 in GUNLIST...but I went with a 1911. Now I have a Glock 19 with a 33rd mag, that is as close as I can get to a SPP for a while.

In semi-auto mode these are among the most useless guns ever devised.

If you can't hose lead at 800 rpm then you are better off with a 9mm handgun with a sackful of hi-caps.

But believe me, I understand: if you want it, then you want it.   The best advice I can give you is it would be a good idea to have someone else already lined up to buy it when you get tired of it.

I had an SPP and it was reliable and accurate, but the sights sucked, being made of plastic like they were and oddly shaped.

I had one for a while and it was a nice evil looking pistol. But at the range it wasn't so great. The trigger is terrible, the Steyr TMP has a two stage trigger. First stage is semi-auto, second stage makes it go full auto. But on the SPP the first stage does nothing. So you end up with a really long and heavy trigger pull with long reset. The sights are terrible too, the front sight will cover a man sized target at 25 yards.

If you gotta have one it isn't a bad gun for blasting at the range, but there isn't much else it's good for.

Im beginning to think a Glock to be more practical, I need to find a way to bunmp-fire a G17 with one of those 33 round mags.

They are cool looking pieces; similar in appeal as the SP-89.  But what you really end up with is one of the worlds biggest pistols.  In a perfect world I'd get a TMP and an MP5k.  In the meantime I'll just stick to packable handguns.
