Replaceable backstraps and a match components on a compact?

They must be catering to the frills market.

The replaceable backstrap is fast becoming a requirement for large organizational orders where there is a perceived need to fit a large number of diverse folks with limited armory support.  For the average user, they will pick the one that feels best and throw the others in a drawer somewhere.

The "match" barrel is of course just marketing, same as in the full size.

While I don't really care for the XD's, I look forward to shooting the XDm compact.  I'd like to shoot the new Ruger SR9c too.  Oh, and the new Sig P290.  I doubt I'll consider any of them a viable replacement for my G26, but it's always fun trying.

I got to admit, I think this is a great idea.  I like it.  My only gripe is that its a Springfield XD.  I hate the backstrap grip safety on fighting guns.  Therefore, I hope Glock or Smith comes out with this soon.  That looks sweet, I think I will go to the fun shop to check it out.

Now this meets my interests. I've never been particularly fond of XDs, but 13 rounds in something so small is impressive. I'll agree with 3rdpig, this probably won't replace my G26, but worth a look.

Our department just switched to the XDM-40. I have to admit as one of the instructors I was not really for the change but after getting used to it they are not bad guns at all.  As far as the grip safety goes it doesn't bother me being a 1911 fan. They replaced the Sig 226 40 and the department qualification scores all went up.

I would like to play with the sub compact also but I don't think I would replace my Glock 23 with it.

Yeah we switched about a month or so ago.  Probably are one of the first in the country if I had to guess.  Couldn't find anybody else online when I looked. Sorry for crappy cell pic.

I've got one of those, they are sweet!

I have a regular XD SC that I carry. It's pretty sweet, but I'm interested in the XDm version as well.

Only thing I don't like about it is the length.  Seems front heavy especially after adding the light.

I saw a female police officer the other day with one. We were over in Fort Worth but she was not a FW officer. I did not have a chance to talk with her.

I pre-paid for mine in bi-tone today.  I will have it in a month hopefully.  It will go lovely with my 4.5in in bi-tone.  This one will be my carry weapon.  I had a xd9sc that I sold earlier this year and regretted.  Now that this will be here soon I'm glad I got rid of it.  The 3.8 I have now is by far the best shooting polymer pistol I have ever shot.
