I'm looking into doing my first 1911 build. Where is a good source to buy 1911 frames from, at a reasonable price ?
Also wondering about 1911 parts kits ?

I tried a Caspian for a 1911 project, fitment was abit too tight for my taste. Rails were machined a bit too low and the bottom of every slide we tried rubbed against it.

Sold it and got a Double Star Frame and it worked great.

I have seen a few STI and Baer, never built on them, but tried fitting a few slides on them and the fit seems very consistant.

RRA sells very nice forged frames + slides.
