Figured I'd post this question in here, since I didn't see any hi-power threads in the FN subforum.

Locally, I've found an FN HP-DA. The finish is a bit beat up, but none of the scratches actually went through the finish, no rust or anything. The trigger is a bit gritty, too. At $350, is this a "BUY IT NOW!!!" situation, or just a decent deal? I don't have the serial range, so I can't guess date of manufacture.
Are trigger jobs on HP-DA guns any more than a normal trigger job for a hi power?

I briefly owned a compacy DA Hi Power. I don`t know about the trigger. What I can tell you is that it is a completely new design. Nothing from the original Hi Power interchanges, including magazines. Something to consider before you buy.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. None of the smiths I've gotten a hold of have had any inclination to do work on a DA HP, think this little bugger may be more trouble than it is worth. Going to pass on it for now.

No parts, no mags, no holsters, no following.  Just an odd-ball attempt at a service pistol.  I would put a used one in the $300 range.

Cabelas recently got some in brand new, around $500 I think?

Its actually a service pistol of a couple European countries.  Wiki might tell you.
