How in the bloody hell do I take the base plate off?
I don't know about everyone else... but here's how I do it:
1. With the straight edge of the base plate facing my body I place my thumbs on either side of the base plate on the flat end:
2. Once my thumbs are in position I apply what I think is way too much pressure to the base plate until it gives way:
3. I go to my office first aid kit to bandage my thumb where the magazine has cut into my thumb when the base plate went flying off;
4. I get out my Streamlight PT2L and go searching for the magazine base plate and magazine spring that went zoinging to the stratosphere and are now hidden in my carpet;
5. Clean blood off desk;
6. Try to remember why I wanted to take off the base plate in the first place.
So, that's how I do it. They are pretty hard to get off.
