I have a FN Hi-Power SFS 9mm that shoots about 8" low at close range (5-7yrds). It also shoots a little to the left. I know how to correct windage, but how would I correct elevation? Would I need to buy different sights. Would different sights make a difference, or would it most likely shot low with those too?

Thanks for the help.

You need a taller rear sight or a shorter front sight.

I was wondering about shaving/sanding off some of the front sight. It would decrease the amount of white on the front sight, but raise my elevation. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll shop around for a shorter post.

Thanks for your input.

Sounds like it has the tall target sights on it, and the rear sight was replaced...if it's got the tall front sight and anything but the adjustable rear sight, that sounds like the problem....

The fixed sight models have a much lower front sight than the ones with the adjustable sights.  Take a look at a few of the Brownings on gunsamerica or GunBroker to see the difference.

Don't get discouraged with it, the Browning is a great firearm!
