I am in the process of refurbing up a T-series...replaced the tiny thumb safety with a larger C&S one, and am in the process of replacing all the springs. I got all of them except the spring(s) in the trigger...and the mainspring.

The mainspring looks like it's held on by a screw-on head...which is then further held on by a pin. I can't for the life of me figure out how to swap it out without some kind of specialized tool..which I don't have or have access to

Is there any way to do it without having to buy another $20 one-use-wonder?

You could (carefully!) compress the spring by using the tines of an old, strong fork. With the spring compressed, you can remove the pin and unscrew the spring retainer part.
