| Went by one of the local gunshops today and the had a canadian hp (inlgis) in good to very good shape for 500. I think it is high. but I do not see too many of these around. Is it a good price? |
| I would not pay that for a shooter...especially if it has the tangent sights which are impossible to replace with anything useful. It is a high quality, well built pistol and the finish may be good or just tolerable, depending on when it was made. I have no idea what it may be worth to a collector as I do not collect guns. |
Yes it's a good price . . . Inglis' are now over 60yrs old and are getting harder to come by. Parts are still obtainable if needed. If it has a tanget sight and a sloted handle it could be a "CH" serial number which is a "Chinese Contract" and worth more even in fair condition. You won't find one cheaper then that unless it's a Sarco red frame demilled pistol. I would check out the magazine to make sure it is authentic too. It should have an aluminum follower and a split base with "JI" stamped on it. That's improtant to collectors that all original parts be with the pistol. RC |
