Does anyone think Browning will ever rekindle the HP models again? Or at least sell those European models here in the US? I love my HP & I see a lot of new gun buyers who will never have the joy of shooting or owning one. Pity.

Browning is still selling HPs in the U.S... Browning is selling the Mark3s and the silver/chrome models in limited quantities. You can also find FN models around if you look hard enough on the net and places like the "Shot Gun News" Check out fnhighpower.com This sight is a forum for the serious HP fans, and you can find out what you want to know about current HPs. I just bought a brand new Marklll HP and I have finally found a hand Gun that I truely admire for its design, function and reliability. John

Since Browning never made any of the HiPowers, I don't see where the problem is. FN, the company that made ALL the HiPowers, is selling the FN HP here and it's readily available.

Gun Tests likes the "US" Hi Power better than the FN one.

I want one, but I would add adjustable sigths fast.

The browning product is made under strict Browning standards which means you will get a HP that has better fit and alot better finnish that will last longer and take more abuse than an FN model. Not that the Fn is not a decent gun. Just has a few less refinements than the Browning. I say go with the best and get the Browning product, you won't be dissapointed.

It's not too available as I never see one at the gun shows nor at the dealers. The only ones I see are used ones from Browning.

I've read (have no actual experience) that the "new" FN Hi-Powers don't have as nice of finish as the Browning marked guns. I don't know. I'm looking at buying a Hi-Power myself. Probably a MKIII.

CDNN has them in stock. Just ask your dealer to order one. Right now the Silver/Chrome with 2 10rd mags is $599.99 and the mat blue 1 10rd and 1 15rd is $529.99.

A new catalog I recieved (GSI Law Enforcement) has the new HPs with decockers. "Now available with patented Safe Fast Shooting System which allows shooter to decock the single action, rendering it safe to carry with a round in the chamber"...thats what it says. $530 for the 9MM and $591 for the .40 cal. And they say its a Browning/Belgium, matte finish.  As long as the "cocked and locked" mode is still there, fine by me.

Wouldn't that require extensive reworking of the frame? There's not a lot of room in there for extra trigger stuff, IMO.

The picture looks the same... Maybe a slight modification like Taurus did, using the same lever, just a sear trip/firing pin block inside? I'd love to "open one up" for a peek. I see lots of the DA models listed too.

I was in a shop on Monday and I looked at one of the new double action FMs. It felt like a BHP but you can't use Spegel grips on it. Until I can no longer get a BHP I will stick with the original. Regards, Richard

Looks like I am gonna have to find me a BHP in 40 before the Brownings are all gone....sniff.

I have had a MkIII since 93 and it has about 15 thousand rounds through it...I have replaced only one component...the sear.  That was early this summer.  Bought the gun in 93.
