I am looking for a HP and found several listed the in the CDNN flyer.  Which of the HP's listed in the CDNN flyer is most like the original HP?

There are Hi-Powers for sale at CDNN.  However, they also have double action guns that resemble Hi-Powers, but are not Hi-Powers.  They also have SFS (something like that) versions, which I believe are Hi-Powers with a modified hammer/safety system.

In the 2005-2 catalog, top of page 8 is the FN HP you want to look at.

Yeah you flip a safety like lever to cock the gun, it was (is?) available as an aftermarket add on to high powers. I've read that it worked as advertised, for whatever that's worth.

The SFS system is very similar to the way the Para Ordnance LDA sytem works. You cycle the slide as normal to put a round in the chamber, and cock the hammer. This stages the mainspring.

At this point, to place the gun on safe, you push the hammer forward. Not lower it. Push it forward from the back. This moves the safety lever into the up position, and allows for hammer down carry while on safe.

By pushing the safety lever into the down (fire) position, the hamer moves back into the cocked position again. Pulling the trigger is the same as the normal, single action Hi-Power pull.

It's an interesting design. The answer to all the single action questions you never asked.
