| the coating of the pistol, what is it? how durable is it?, how well does the 40s&w frame hold up comparied to the 9mm, also has anyone heard of the mag disconnect breaking or causeing someone to die because of it? |

The .40 frame probably hasn't been tested enough by shooters to really determine where its breaking point is & how it compares to their 9mm, IMO. As for the coating, which finish are you referring to? As for the mag disconnect, that's usually the first thing a gun owner has removed. I know I did. |

The reason all Hi Powers now have the stronger cast frame instead of the earlier forged frame is because of the 40 S&W. The 40 also has a heavier slide and much stronger recoil spring and a barrel with 3 locking lugs instead of the 2 of the 9mm.
