I picked up a newer production hi-power awhile back. I like everything about the gun except the fact that the hammer tries to eat my hand every time I go to the range. Any suggestions on grips that might help with this issue?
The factory grips were crap and I am currently running a set of Hogue wood grips. They have a very think profile and are very comfortable but my hand always seems to ride to high. |
| I have VZ Grips on my 1911 and love them. I also added skateboard tap to the front of the grip to help with a firm grip. They work great together. |

Here's a set of VZ grips on mine. I don't think the grips are going to help you avoid 'hammer bite', to do that you're either going to change your grip of the pistol, or change the hammer. Cylnder and Slide offers some hammers http://www.cylinder-slide.com/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=catshow&ref=BHPham I've seen examples of people bobbing the spur hammer also. |

Has anyone tried the Hogue G10s or the Pachmayrs?
I have a set of G10s on my Sig and I like them a lot. I'm not sure if they will work as well on the hi-power because of the open back strap design. The pachmayrs are intriguing because they are cheap and provide 360 coverage. I have never handled pachmayrs and I am not sure if the texturing is aggressive enough to make much of a difference. |

I bought Hogue Rosewood grips but haven't shot with them yet. I'm not quite sure how the grips would help |

Yours looks good. I had that done on my Rock Island GI hammer. Haven't gotten around to it on my 2 MK3 FN's. |
