| Need a gunsmith for an FEG P9K in need of a tuneup. The trigger when i initially picked this up was awful, I don't really trust myself to do the job. any suggestions? |

My FEG had an aweful trigger and I figured if I pulled the mag safety out it would help it a little. I was wrong it helped it a LOT! Could save you a few dollars and you will learn how to take the pistol down in the process. Thinking more on it, may have to go with this option. Kind of wary, need a vise and the right tools or i am going to screw this up |

It's really easy. I didn't even need to take the trigger out to remove mine. The guy I got the gun from traded it to me because of the awful trigger. Took me only a few minutes to remove it, and man it was a different gun. Even if you do need to remove the trigger components the Hi-power really is a fairly easy gun to work on.
I've had both of mine down to the frame and back up, and the only part that was somewhat challenging was reassembly of the sear/hammer/safety. All that took was a specially made hammer retainment tool (read: a bent clothes hanger). Other than that I didn't use any really special tools or even a vice, just a punch and a screwdriver. A vice would make it easier, though. |
