Afternoon Folks,
I don't post often, but I enjoy reading all of the great posts here. I appreciate all of the insight provided. I'm definitely looking to get a NIB BHP Mark III sometime in the future but I thought I give back to the community to let you know that AimSurplus has Used BHPs for sale. -Tim AimSurplus Handguns |
My brother just ordered one of the MK 3's, they were just $30 more. Same guns sell for close to $900 new.
MK3 adds ambi safety, 3 dot Hi profile sights, and will feed HP ammo. Unless the finish is gone or just wore out, you should be able to turn these things around for a nice profit if you decided not to keep. Definitely a deal on these. |

The Mark II hi powers will also feel hollow point ammo reliably. The change to the feedramp was one of the changes from the pre-Mark II guns to the Mark II guns. |

I think they all went in about 4 or 5 hours. Aim said they had received 'small lots' of the four variations they showed on their website.
In the case of the steel-framed, ambi-safety units, it appeared that small lot consisted of about 9 pistols. I'm thinking there were less of the alloy-framed units available. |
| The 15 or so alloy ones I've seen were a bit rough on the exterior, but the internals looked like they had hardly been shot. Most (12+) had exceptional triggers with little take up, better than most state side Brownings I've played with. But holy Jesus do they carry nicely, reminds me of a thin Glock 19. These have to be held to be appreciated, once held you will likely want to buy one if available. |

Quoted: I bought a pair of them that came in about 4 months ago or so. The ones I bought were $399 and ship. Moderate amount of finish wear, mechanically excellent. Mine are now with Don Williams becoming heirlooms for my kids..... How long has Don had them? He has had mine for a lot longer then he estimated. |

I got mine yesterday. Wear in the parkerized finish is substantial but localized - nothing a shot of spray-n-bake won't fix: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg34/stealthyblagga/BHPoriginal.jpg Mechanically this gun is pristine. I'm tempted to clean it up, refinish but keep it otherwise original... its not a gun I'm likely to carry or run in a match, so why not restore it to factory condition ? Mine was delivered earlier this week. Very similar to yours, StealthyBlagga, except mine has the 'fatty' looking Pachmayer grip that is somewhat chewed up. Already ordered a set of used, original, 'good condition' wood grips from Numrich, along with a replacement firing pin retainer as the one in the gun broke when I removed it during the initial inspection and cleaning. The pistol was not terribly dirty but it was dry as a bone. Can you tell me more about the spray-n-bake you're contemplating for your pistol, please? I've searched several sites looking for info on a DIY method but all I've found is recommendations of who to send the pistol off to for much more work (and $) than I want to put into this gun as it will be just a range toy for me. Thanks for any follow-up info. |

Thanks for any follow-up info. There are a multitude of spray-on gun finishes available. A couple of good places to start are Brownells and the AR15.com refinishing forum. Several manufacturers offer a spray-n-bake finish that mimics parkerizing (or just about any other color you like). HTH. |

Quoted: One of my alloy's after a little loving. While not my best photo's these do dress up pretty good. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/IMG_0428.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/IMG_0429.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/IMG_0427.jpg Wow, thats a looker. Did you send it out or do it yourself. I'd love to have it refinished but I'll probably have to wait a good while seeing as I shouldn't have splurged to buy the gun in the first place. |

One of my alloy's after a little loving. While not my best photo's these do dress up pretty good.> Come on now give us the specs , who did the stipling etc . what finish is that ? Yes please. Love to have the alloy I ordered setup like that. Not much to it really, had the help of a neighbor who's a retired old smith. I stippled it, I've done about 5 pistols to date Also slightly bobbed the hammer Gave certain edges a carry bevel I Had to flatten muzzle ring on the slide due to damage Removed the vertical lines on the front sides of the slide Replaced just about every spring in it, just because Altamonte grips Mag disconnect removed which provided for a super sweet trigger My neighbor helped me finish it in a custom blend of Norrells Moly Coat He also helped me make the coffin safety This thing shoots really great, easily making hits out at 50 and 100 yards. I actually like the stock sights as they are really low drag, they have sorta grown on me. Plus it carries even better than most any other pistol I care to mention and I've tried my share. For me the balance is almost perfect. |
