I've had a P32 for a few years now. When I first got it it would jam at least once every mag & it locked the slide back to the piont I couldn't unjam it at the range.   I  found the take down pin had started to come out of the catch when I got home.  I cleaned the gun very well & put it back together & manualy fed rounds thru by racking the slide. I figured I fixed the problem.  Haven't fired it since, until today.

I got a new PF9 & went to the range. With the warmer weather coming I took my P32 too. The first mag of seven winchester 60 gr silvertip hp  fed thru without a problem. I loaded 5 magtech 71 gr fmj. First 2 went bang & failed to eject empty case. Cleared & fired last 3.  I put 7 of the magtech in & it again fired twice & failed to load the next round. I rechambered & fired 2 more rounds when the slide stuck open. I could not get it to move. Not even a little bit.

I know it's cheap ammo but to lock the slide back ?  I've never had that happen on any other gun I've ever fired & I've been shooting for 22 years now. I wanna carry this on the hot summer days but not sure if I can trust it.

And I know I need to get back to the range & try different ammo but was wondering if anyone has heard or seen this before.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Kel-Tec apologists blame that problem on limp wristing.  They always blame the shooter rather than the real problem.  This particular problem is caused by cheap slide stop springs.  This is the part you need to replace:

Unfortunately with the crappy parts Kel-Tec uses you'll probably have to try several before finding one that works even half of the time.z

Thanks Zoom.  I've never had any kind of  jamming problem with any other semis I've ever had, so I do doubt the limp wrist idea.

Am I gonna need a gunsmith to replace that spring and do you know of anywhere I can get a stronger one ??

Thanks again.

I replaced it myself about half a dozen times.  You hammer out two pins and partially slide the frame out of the grip.  The only trouble I had was when I didn't have the pistol on a firm surface when trying to remove the pins.  ktog.org has some good disassembly info.  You'll want to do this yourself if you can to save the $35 or so it costs to ship the pistol back to them.z
