Any recommendations for this little gem?
How does it feed hollow points?

Mine feeds HP just fine.  No failures with Gold Dots or Hydroshocks, but I usually carry Gold Dots.  Also feeds the winchester truncated cone rounds which will usually hang up most pistols with feeding issues.

Lots of folks also like the Golden Saber because of the weight (102 grains).  The GS rounds are known to be subject to core/jacket separation, but it's not that big a deal IMHO.

i used to use gold dots but have changed to federal personal defense loads.

less recoil, better accuracy, and according to our steel plates appears to hit harder <it actually knocks them over at 25'>

I find that Win Silvertips work best for feed function and accuracy .
Gold dots are also good , but they tend to run a little hotter so the
recoil is more snappy on an already small area of your hand .

I just buy the 100 round Winchester value packs in the white box at Wal-Mart.

P3AT rides in my front left pocket for if something happens and I cant draw my primary Glock 19 on my right hand side so I'm assuming I'll be shooting someone point-blank and wanting to get them off me long enough to get my primary.

Thanks for replies!
So far it feed 50rd of 95gr Blazer ammo and ~20 rds of Remington/UMC with no problems.
I love this little gun... it hasn't left my front pocket since I bought it!

My observation is that it has been 100% reliable for a 100 round value pack of Remington 88 gr. JHP's from the ol' WallyWorld.

So far  I have ran Winchester WWB, American Eagle, Blazer, S&B and Wolf Hard Ball through mine. It doesn't like the Wolf and Blazer.
I've had Numerous jams with the Blazer. Twice it's pushed the bullet back in the case.

I've polished the feed ramp but I haven't taken it to the range since.

Is there anything else I can do to improve the reliability?

Federal Hydrashoks work good in mine FWIW.

I carry mine with Federal 90grn Hydrashoks in it.  It's been flawless with ~75 rounds of those through it.  I don't shoot it much recreationally, but it has also been good with any FMJ i've put in it.

Um, don't shoot Wolf or Blazer?

There are many reports that the P3AT does not like aluminum or steel cased ammo. And if it is pushing the bullets in to the case there is something wrong with the ammo, not the gun.

corbon dpx for me.  Corbon designed the 380 dpx strictly around the kt 380 handgun.  They were the only two guns used in corbons R & D of the 380 dpx round. So I know it works right in the kt 380.  Great round to,  great expansion with the all copper barnes bullet,  Not to many 380 hp's will give 100% expansion and 100% bullet retention but the 380 dpx round does both...

Corbon DPX... if you value your life.

Nothing else comes close in any shape or form.  Not even the P'wer Ball.  Polymer tip starts sliding to one side before good mushroom effect and acts more like FMJ.

the p3at doesnt always like to feed hollowpoint ammo, but with golden saber's ive never had a feed problem in over 500 rounds. and they pack a bigger punch

I have shot this and use it currently in my P3AT with no issues.

#1 thing for ammo it needs to work every time in your gun.

Yep.  I've never had a hiccup with GDHPs but I've been very impressed with what I've read and will likely switch once I've had a chance to try them out enough for myself...

I've read a lot of stuff (much of it from Old_Painless) that says the .380 just doesn't get adequate penetration with hollow points, and you'd be better off using FMJ.  Have any of you guys done any paper or gel tests with yours?

I'm thinking of getting the wife a .380 (almost got her talked into a CCW), and any advise would be welcome.

I've been using Federal Hydrashoks without any problems.  I bought a couple of boxes of S&B and was having light primer strikes.
