That was a challenge to find before all of this craziness -- right now, I'm going to guess your chances are slim to none.

No problem, and I sincerely hope that somebody here knows of something/somewhere and can be more helpful that skepticism (which certainly isn't helpful at all ).

I sent my local gun store on a search for two almost a year ago.  they pulled some strings, did some horse trading, and some stuff in the back ally they wont talk about and found one for me a couple months later.  got it for $425.00  i say it was worth it

Edit:   Talk to your local gunstore and see what they can do.  My best advice.  Preferably a store that you have done a lot of business with, i have found the go the extra mile for loyal customers.  Mine found me a PSL too!!!

considering the sub2000 is listed by name in the proposed federal AWB, as it was stated slim to none.

Went to a LGS last week who was normally a decent guy. He had  3 of the KT's for $1600 each. Needless to say everything else was way overpriced. I walked out.

I almost hate saying this, but I was just at my LGS picking up a Kareen hp, and they had just got a shipment of different types of guns. I saw a NIB sub2k40 sitting there and they let me have it with two boxed of ammo fro $400 otd...made up for the crappy Kareen

Nothing to hate there, IMO -- congrats on finding one at a reasonable retail price.

Its crazy what people are paying for them. I mean the Sub is a nice little toy but not something I would want to run hard for a long time. I did find a Sub9 at a local shop this past summer but they ain't cheap up here. The price was fair considering the market however and I got it. I could turn it over and make some $$ but that is not why I bought it. Mine uses S&W 59 mags...which is OK since my Marlin Camp Carbine uses them also. They can share. Had it been a Glock model I think the owner of the shop would have kept it for himself.

OP - your post prompted me to bring my Sub 9000 9mm home (Glock mag type). I have been keeping it at my country property. Less security there, so back home to the gun safe it goes. I don't shoot it a lot, but they are neat little guns.

I don't normally leave guns there, but I had the Sub tucked away in a good location. I had it as a house gun in case I went there with just my CC pistol.
