|

LNIB CZ P01. couple failure to feeds with Aluminum Blazer. not a problem now. Gun 4. NIB CZ Kadet. can be picky with 22 ammo. but its a no brainer since i have alot of 22 and most of them can be picky. you can be the judge if they are major/minor or other issues. |

Poll is very hard to answer so I'll just give my CZ pistol experiences to date...
1. CZ 75 PCR. 9mm. The pistol that made me sell my Glock 17. Flawless function, but I sold it on a whim, worst firearms decision I've ever made. Wish I still had it. 2. CZ 97 B. 45 ACP. Best out of the box accuracy of any handgun I've ever owned. Zero function with hollow points, even after a trip to CZ-USA for remedial action. Sold without regret. 3. CZ 2075 RAMI. 40S&W. Another FMJ weapon only. Total jamomatic with any hollow point. Sold, ran away screaming. 4. CZ 75B. Standard model, 9mm. Flawless. Best 9mm I've ever owned. Accurate, reliable, and no pistol is better in the hand, not even a 1911. A keeper. I also have a CZ 527 "Mini Mauser" carbine chambered in .223. (I know, it's not a pistol...) I have a Weaver 3 to 9 scope on it. Insanely accurate, even with cheapo 55 grain surplus 5.56 FMJ ammo. I have embarrassed guys at the range that were shooting far more expensive/exotic rifles with that little CZ. |

Full size 75b 6k+ rounds not a single problem. Purchased new traded it for the compact. Compact 75b 4k+ rounds firing pin retaining pin broke. purchased used so I have no idea how many actual rounds its seen. I've also heard this is common if you dry fire with out snap caps. I'm looking for a 97b and a Phantom next. |

CZ-97B, 45 ACP. Two failures to feed in the first hundred rounds, a FMJ, and a JHP. Now, it feeds everything flawlessly. I'd trust it with my life. As someone said above, it's easily the most accurate handgun I've ever shot, and it's my favorite handgun. CZ-82, 9x18. No failures of any kind. Also highly accurate. |

I voted no problems but I should qualify my vote-
I have had no issues after break-in I had a few stove pipes in the first 100 rounds(possibly also had to do with this being my first pistol... limp wristing?) My girlfriend had a few stove pipes the first time I took her shooting- again, her first time shooting and she limp wristed it(along with my Glock 19). No problems since. |
| I answered yes, because it has. the roll pin retaining the firing pin broke and I lost the firing pin. However, I consider this normal wear and tear of a gun and it does not prevent me from carrying it or relying on it in any way. I have had the slide on my Glock 17 break, too. If you use guns, they break eventually. Maintainance is required. |

My 97B frame developed cracks. CZ replaced it with no issue, but I never got an answer on what caused the cracks. That has made me mildly worried about the longevity of using CZ in competition. In fact, I've only put about 30 rounds through the new replacement gun. My 97 also had trouble with HP, but I'm not a fan of HP, so not really an issue for me.
My SS 75B has been flawless, other than it wouldn't feed some 147gr fiochhi rounds. But, a friends SP01 ate them just fine. Again, not a big issue for me, I found other stuff to feed it. Easy since I reload, but I wanted a good factory HP round for CCW/HD use. I need to try some TAP in it. I still love CZ though, and I am in a current toss up about whether to buy a Tactical Sport or build up my 1911A1 for USPSA use next year...I'll be using the 75B in Production class this year. |
| My 75B and SP01 have been 100%... My 97B had some issues feeding hollow points... Sent it back to CZ and now it will feed anything, even brass cases... Since I've got it back it's been 100% with all ammo.. Also my 97B is one of the most accurate pistols I've ever fired.. |

I've been shooting my 75B SA regularly for over six years. I had several stovepipes in the first 100 rounds, began to think I had made a poor choice. Then it just stopped having any failures whatsoever and has been running 100% ever since!
I think the only reason that some folks look down on CZs or don't consider them when looking for a first gun is the affordable price. Many people have gotten used to the notion of spending $1K or so as a requisite for a dependable, quality handgun. |
|
Another reason for the animosity towards CZ is the thinking among many that they are a "Commie gun" in the same class as any other "East Bloc" weapon.
"Not Invented Here" syndrome is a big motivator among firearms enthusiasts, if you don't think so, just take a stroll through any 1911 forum.

My well worn CZ52 had worked flawlessly up until yesterday when it stove piped and after a closer inspection I realized that the extractor had broken in two and I lost both it as well as the extractor spring leaving the pin intact.
No matter since the new extractor and spring is only going to cost me a whopping $20.00. Definitely one of the most accurate, reliable and fun pistols I've ever owned! |

MILITARY SURPLUS CZs...
CZ-27 - 100% reliable through the 50 round box I put through it.
CZ-52 - Had a problem with the slide stop disengaging without pulling the slide back. Squared surface of slide stop and problem was corrected. Otherwise has ran 100%. Never once failed to feel, chamber, fire, extract, or eject as it should. CZ-82 - Came to me with a worn-out sear. CZ offered repair service. Since it has been returned, the pistol has been 100% reliable. COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION CZs (bought used) CZ-75B - Appeared to have been shot considerably when purchased. Occasional (once every 1-2 hundred rounds) fail to eject. Replaced extractor spring. Problem fixed, pistol now runs 100%. CZ-75 SP-01 - Appeared to have not been shot much when purchased. 100% reliable from day one. Has never malfunctioned. |

Quoted:
CZ-40P, .40S&W: Regularly fails to feed all types and loads, particularly in the hands of inexperienced shooters. It rarely jams for me, but is only 95% reliable. I believe that a heavier recoil spring may fix this problem. Any suggestions? Bolt over base ftf? New mag springs, +15%, from Wolff. |
