| I am looking to purchase and or put together a single action CZ, and I wanted some advise what one would be the best option? I know I could convert a regular sp01,or just by a single action gun . I would like to set the gun up with a flat trigger, light pull, and short travel if it's possible. |
What's your budget? You could make this as cheap or expensive as you want really...
My recommendation for a midrange budget would be to get a SP-01 Shadow and then convert to single action with the flat trigger. This will give you the best possible trigger as the Shadow series doesn't have the reset ruining firing pin block. Of course, the firing pin block triggers really aren't even bad to start with, it's just that the Shadows make everything else seem like it was put together with a sledgehammer and chisel. |

Quoted: I had this made by CZC, took about two months. But it was well worth it. 75 shadow SA, replace trigger with the flat aluminum trigger, add short reset system, add competition hammer. $1280 http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss12/maleantemalandro/Mobile%20Uploads/ccczzzzz_zpsqp8us8h4.jpeg And, on the other end of the price spectrum I took an Israeli Surplus transitional Pre-B and turned it into this SAO sleeper. I have $612 into this including the original purchase price, FFL transfer fee, all parts and shipping. ![]() |

Piratetech, your SP -01 has a firing block right? The picture looks like you trigger has a very short amount of travel before engagement. Dogtired, is the CZ stock? You have to be careful when adjusting the triggers on CZ's as the sear engagement can start engaging incorrectly and wind up wearing down the sear surface prematurely. It mentions how to do it in the manual. I think you have to keep the trigger pulled and then rotate the hammer back and forth until you feel it travel without any "bumps" along the way. His looks a little over adjusted but I can't be certain without looking at the gun in person. YMMV! |

His looks a little over adjusted but I can't be certain without looking at the gun in person. YMMV! I played with it both ways. It is probably just a hair over tuned as it sits right now. There is definitely still more that could be taken back. If there is any wear on the sear I'm not seeing it yet I have about 3000 rounds through it. It had a Cajun Gunworks pro package done to it by the original owner. It's a range toy not a carry gun. Haven't had any issues out of it. You could definitely pull it back a little more and risk double and triple taps not having the sear engage properly that's for sure. |
| If you want a single action CZ, just buy a Browning High Power. The CZ ergonomically the same as the BHP. The difference is 3 more rounds, double action and slightly heavier. Cylinder and Slide can give you a target grade trigger if that is what you purpose.. The whole advantage of the CZ over the BHP is that it is SA/DA and recently the addition of a decocker. |

You're not acknowledging the slide in frame design advantage of the CZ or the better safety options or the lack of a magazine safety with the CZ. Every Hi-Power trigger I've shot was squarely in the meh zone also. The CZ is an improved Hi-Power. A mashup of the Sig 210 and the Hi-Power to form a 9mm pistol that even Jeff Cooper liked. |

I just wish somebody would make a CZ clone that has the accuracy that could give the P210 a run for its money. |

I am debating a custom sp01 sao only build. The only thing that has me worried is the warranty on a custom build. I'd hate to drop $1300- $1500 on a hand gun for it to take a dump and be left high and dry. The two shops I would be using is/are czc or cgw. Both shops stand behind their work. |
| If something were to break, and was not a aftermarket cgw installed part, would cz get it then send it back, less any modifications that have been made, in its stock form, as most manufacturers do? Or is it understood that after a full tuning the manufacturer, for all intent and purpose, is now cgw? |
