I decided on one of these for competition and wanted some advice from people who are knowledgeable about CZ. I'm getting the feeling that these things are in short supply. as I live in a remote rural area without access to large volume dealers I'm wondering if CZ pistols are easy to order, or should I just move on and consider something else? any feedback on ordering this handgun would help.

I haven't seen a Single Action outside of GB in quite some time.

CZ Custom may be able to help or Damascus Gun Shop.

As said, they're a tough to find item these days. I have one that I bought in 2007. It's by far my favorite pistol, with the 9mm top end or the Kadet. I like it so much that I've wanted to pick up a spare in the last couple of years. I missed the boat, and currently they're just about impossible to find. A few months ago I picked up a new 75B instead, with the intention of converting to SAO.

thanks for the links, that information was very helpful as a resource. both these outfits list the cz 75b sa and the shadow as out of stock with no delivery date in the future.

tough doesn't cover it by half. I'd say impossible. too bad, it's a reliable alternative to the 1911, and would be a great competition gun. if CZ could expand production it looks like they could sell a lot of them. I'll have to look for something else.

Saw one on Bud's website last week.  A little over $500.

Yeah, Bud's had one last week but it didn't last long.

I never could find one when I was looking so I converted a standard 75B to single action.

As I understand it, quite a bit of the time, the CZ retailers have no idea what's coming or when. There are times that they do know what's coming and trends and cycles to CZUB shipping pistols to CZ USA for distribution but most of the time, they don't know when or what's coming.

I believe there was a larger shipment of pistols recently and that may have included some Single Actions. Wholesale Hunter listed 6 on GB last month.

You can call some places and be placed on a list to receive a Single Action if and when they come in. The last I know, CZ Custom was happy to put your name down on a list in case a specific model came in.

You can also set up a specific search on Gunbroker in case someone lists a Single Action.

Happy hunting for your pistol.

I would just find the cheapest 75/75B and have it converted to single action only. You may end up with a better trigger than whatever CZUB puts out.

The downsides to doing that are you don't get the better beaver tail and the extended ambi safeties.

True. Although I believe cgw sells the safeties. Supposedly the latest 75b's will/do have the beavertail. Wait on those frames is holding up the longslides at CZ custom.

Interesting.

I ordered a 75B Wednesday, have to wait and see if it does indeed have the better beavertail when it gets here.

I have a 2013 75B that I bought brand new just months ago, and it has the old style. Honestly though I personally don't notice a huge difference in feel between the two in the hand.

Here it is next to my 2007 75SA (with Kadet):

I just ordered one from them a couple of days ago too. No shipping confirmation yet, but their site says they were closed today due to weather.

It took them 4 days to change status from order confirmation  to shipping.  I already had my FFL info on file with them.  Bought a Rami  from them 3 weeks ago.

The FFL I use was already on file too. That's partly why I went with them; that and they had the lowest price.

thanks for all the info. ordered one from grabagun. got it.

like it. put 300 rounds through it in three sessions. overtravel stop works great. have ordered the light hammer spring, custom sear and hammer. the SA trigger pull is a bit long. ambi extended safeties work great for me (lefty). I will eventually get the thin grips

it's a good reliable 9mm substitute for a 1911 in my opinion

thanks again.

If you're a registered member, you can set up search queries for specific things that will be emailed to you every morning.

It's wonderful if you're looking for specific features like Single Action only versions of pistols or certain finishes.

There were a couple CZ 75 B SAs on Gunbroker last week - I managed to pick one up on Friday. You might have to search for all the different variations of "CZ 75 B SA", e.g. "CZ75 SA", "CZ 75 SAO", etc. since Gunbroker's search function is a bit antiquated.
