What I want is a CZ 75B SA in .40 S&W. I requested a quote from my FFL who is normally very good at finding things and has great prices. He said he couldn't find it from his distributors. I gave him the 91151 part number, the 9 designates standard capacity mags, but only the 01151 (10 round mags) is listed on the CZ site, is that the problem, do they not offer it from the factory with 12 round mags? It isn't in the list of discontinued CZ guns for 2013 that I saw.
I know I could get the standard "B" model and convert it to SA, but I don't like the frame/beaver-tail. My other choice is the SP-01 Tactical, but I'm not big on decockers, and from what it looks like it's not possible to convert a decocker model to a SA/safety model, is that true? This will be my first CZ, however I did own an EAA Witness Elite Match in 10mm which I thoroughly loved. And for those that are wondering, yes I want a .40, I've already got a ton of reloading supplies for .40 and since I also load 10mm I can share bullets as well and reduce the different components I need to buy. Unfortunately my quest to always be different is resulting in the typical problem of finding exactly what I want. Thanks for any help. |

They're just hard to come by right now, they aren't discontinued. If you don't like decockers (I don't either) but you think an SP-01 would work for you, just drop the Tactical and get a straight SP-01. They are equipped with a safety. I had one for a while, but I prefer the standard frame CZs. |

I know you said you wanted a .40, but FYI CZ's are WELL known and EXTREMELY reliable in 9mm, but I have heard more hiccups coming from the .40 cals. That being said, check Armslist, TexasGunTrader (See if someone will ship), and the EE. Also, CZCustom has a number of CZ handguns in stock. I spoke to CZ USA this morning asking about the P-09...CZ is back ordered on ALL handguns into next summer. You're either gonna have to A) Get on a LONG waitlist B) Wait a long ass time for them to hit the shelves again C) Browse local Funshows/Funstores/Online D) Get one used. I'd look at getting one used if I were you. That being said, I know a few places that have a couple CZ's here and there. I'll look and see what I can find as far as .40 cal CZ's. |

By next summer do you actually mean this summer or are they seriously backlogged until 2014?
It look like the original part number I gave him doesn't really exist, they only seem to sell them with 10 round mags so I'm having him look for that. Not seeing jack for CZs in .40 on my local forum or GB. The SA is what I really want, I'm just impatient, can't believe it would be a gun in high demand but that's my luck

First it was Jan they would be available, now we are hearing mid June. Who knows? Unfortunately, ALL CZ variants are in high demand. Everything. And CZ markets their shit everywhere. I would go ahead and try and get the 10 rnd variant. Or call CZ Custom and see what they have cooking. Maybe look at a used tactical sport model in 40? Might be easier to find. |

| So I actually ended up with an IWI Baby Eagle. I'm really liking it so far, I'll be shooting it this weekend. Not wild about the slide mounted safety/decocker but from what I can tell it's perfectly safe to carry hammer down safety off, so having to manipulate the safety while drawing isn't a concern. |
