I've been having some problems lately with the slide not locking back on my P-07.  It's not every time, but more often than not, when the slide opens on an empty magazine the slide stop seems to not raise far enough to catch the slide.  I'm thinking it might be something with the magazines as when they are fully loaded, it sounds like the rounds are rattling around a little bit, and only when it's fully loaded.  Anyone had a similar issue or have any advice on how to rectify this?

The rattle when fully loaded is normal.

A little bit more information please:

Factory magazines?

How many rounds fired?

A single magazine or all magazines?

Can you duplicate without firing?

There are a bunch of things that can cause this.  One method to take you out of the picture is to shoot left handed (to make sure you are not riding the lever).  It could also be a weak magazine spring, worn follower, or an incorrect magazine.

Yep factory mags

I'd say about 700+

More on one than the other but I've seen it with both

Yes

I'm fairly certain that I'm not riding the slide stop.

Time to post a picture, slide off, magazine inserted. Also, check your magazine lips with a caliper and let us know what that is.  If they spread too far (and they will, eventually), it will leave room for the follower to slide around.  I wonder if you have a too short slide lock though.

Second thing I would do is contact CZ.  They really are very good. I have about 3k through mine so far (purchased last fall).

ETA: What is the serial number range of your pistol?  Did I mention that you should call CZ??

You could also try putting a new spring in the mag. I would think that a mag spring would last WELL over 700 rounds but if it is weak it may not be engaging the slide stop.

Think I've got it figured out.  Last week I ordered a few vz-58 magazines from CZ-USA, what was in the package that arrived was SP-01 magazines.  Called CZ, they're sending a shipping label, everythings hunky-dory.  I got to thinking, while I've got them, let's see if they fit in the DUTY.  I throw it in and it fits like a dream and, much to my delight, locks the slide back when opened by hand every time (the DUTY mags only do so infrequently).  I'm just a little surprised that the DUTY mag springs would wear out that quickly, either way, they'll be getting another call and hopefully I'll be getting another shpping label in the mail.

To be honest, the thought of telling them to nevermind had crossed my mind.  I've only got the two factory mags that came with the DUTY and have been drooling over some more for quite a while.  I guess I'll have to just go and get an SP-01, if nothing else, for the mag compatability....
