This past SEP I bought from an acquaintance a CZ75B. I may have have fired ten rounds, and that was it. Liked how it felt and worked. I tried to clean it and take it apart before putting it in storage, but man, that pistol was not having it. I've owned Glocks, a 1911, and now a USP. Taking them down was easy. But this CZ...WTF.

What am I doing wrong?

Field stripping a CZ75 is pretty straight forward, have you noticed the take down marks on the left side of the slide and frame? Move the slide so the marks align up, then remove the slide lock, slide should then come off the frame. Of course new guns are quite stiff and take more effort. Now if your talking about a complete strip, then for sure a CZ75 is no Glock. There's a pretty good video on You Tube that shows the stripping of a CZ75 Compact. It was a great help when I refinished a Pre B. Good luck.

So, did you get it?

After I align the marks like was said above, I use the baseplate of a mag to push the slide stop pin out of the gun.  After it pops, you can pull it out with your fingers.  I don't think you can pop it out using just your fingers.

Download the CZ 75B owners manual HERE.

Just scroll down to the appropriate section on that page.

You can, but it's a lot easier to tap or push it out with something. I use the factory mag loaders that come with their pistols. I line up the index marks, tap the slide stop in on the right side, and then the top lip on the loader is perfect for prying the stop out on the other side. I've been doing this for years.

So basically, this won't be a camping gun. I'll keep her to use for those new to pistol's, and stick with my go to USP. Thanks all for the help.

It's used by more armies than any other pistol world wide. It's not that difficult. And it did pass NATO trials/ torture test

My mindset is on practicality here. If I cannot dissemble at night by feel alone, then I see no point. Just my opinion on that. Maybe it's the twenty years of service that brings that out from me, meh.

You do a lot of tactical night operating?  Especially operating where you must disassemble the gun before firing?

As has been stated, the gun is not hard to take down.  You can take it down by feel just like your Glock.  If your soul reasoning for buying a gun was the ability to take it down at night...why wouldnt you think of that before buying?

I just wanted a decent no BS 9x19 gun.

im not sure what being able to take the thing down blindfolded has to do with whether or not its a no BS gun.

that just seems rather low on the list of necessary things.

It's not that hard to take it down. And if you actually use it you probably could take it apart blind-folded; not sure why that's an issue though. CZs are just about all I shoot anymore, I could probably do a field strip in the dark.

So after you fieldstrip it in the dark, what next?  Cleaning in the dark? Trigger job in the dark?

That's what I was thinking.  Of all things to judge a pistol on, take down procedure is pretty far down the list.

I use the base plate of the magazine to pop the slide stop out.  Piece of cake.

My 16 year old daughter just stripped my 75b blinded folded in less than 1 minute. Drop mag, rack slide, hammer to half cock, slide pushed back till hammer is felt, mag base pop out slide stop, remove slide stop, pull slide off frame, remove spring, remove barrel. Done. Easy pezzy lemon squezze

I don't even need the mag baseplate for me pre-b 85. The side of my index finger works pretty well, not as sensitive to the pressure as a fingertip.

This varies a lot from piece to piece. I have some that are no problem to pull the slide stop by hand, others where you really have to hit it against something hard.

There is no reason you can't field strip a CZ blind folded.

After you take the crosspin/slide release out a few times, it gets easier. I can swap from my 9mm slide to my kadet in less than 30 seconds now. Just get some practice. Its not too hard. Just takes a little learning.
